Forensic Case Officer


Main Purpose & Job Summary:

To ensure the smooth flow and management of PC, Cell Site, CCTV and mobile phone cases from receipt until despatch.

Digital Forensics

Main Duties/ Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Producing quotes for customers
  • Updating the Pipe drive system on quotations completed, providing support to the Sales Team
  • Dealing with customer enquiries, by email and telephone
  • Liaise with customers and arrange for collection/delivery of exhibits to CCL laboratory
  • Inspection of items arriving at CCL
  • Receipting of items on InfoPath/CCL Track ensuring the continuity of evidence
  • Loading cases onto Focal Point case management system
  • Quality checking the case loading process ensuring any anomalies are documented and the customer is notified (if applicable)
  • Customer reporting and monitoring Projected Return Dates (PRDs) of cases
  • Handling media requests – providing to analysts and updated sales orders
  • Updating Focal Point case management system ensuring information is accurate and up to date with the current status of a case
  • Auditing of Exhibit Store (Team Effort) & Archives tapes
  • Working with the other departments within CCL to ensure correct case management and good customer service
  • Gain authorisation for casework when required from clients
  • Upon completion of case, arrange for delivery by CCL or collection by client
  • Release and sign out exhibits and casework to client or CCL driver ensuring continuity of evidence
  • Invoicing of completed cases on the case management system and assisting Finance
  • Produce Management Information for CCL Group Management Team and for Customers, as required, including weekly/monthly work reports.

  • An understanding of current ACPO guidelines and Forensic Regulator’s requirements (ISO17025)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Other Role Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ UK residency
  • Full driving licence
  • Satisfactorily pass pre-hire and annual security clearance procedures in accordance with the ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) National Vetting Scheme.
